The OGCE Portal Toolkit

The OGCE collaboration develops JSR 168-compatible portlets and Web services for building Web portals for science gateways. The OGCE portal download combines portlets developed by the GridPort team at TACC and SDSU, the Extreme Lab, the Community Grids Lab at Indiana University, and tools and portlets from the Sakai Project. Grid access and high level programming APIs are provided by a portal-compatible version of the Java COG Kit. Many addtional services are available for download, including NCSA Grid Tools and the Tupelo Data and Metadata Archiving System . See the Related Services sidebar for a complete list.

Software

OGCE2's 2.1 Release Available

The OGCE 2.x series releases combine into a single download package everything you need to run a Grid portal. Installation is accomplished through a single shell script. Portlets include

  • Grid credential proxy management portlets;
  • Portlets for managing remote files through GridFTP and other file management systems;
  • Portlets for running jobs through Globus Toolkit versions 2.4 and 4.0 (both Web Service and pre-Web Service versions);
  • Storage Resource Broker (SRB) portlets; and
  • Grid Portals Information Repository (GPIR) portlets and services
  • Condor job submission portlets.
Portlets may be developed with JSP, Java Server Faces, and other technologies. OGCE includes support for Velocity-based portlets. A sample Velocity-based IFrame portlet is included as a demonstration. Third party software included in the release includes:
